I don't know what is with the mosquito net hat and the log pillow! It only took a few days for Syra to get comfy Alaska style!

Talk about a multicultural family! We took this picture at one of our stops in Canada on one of our many trips to Alaska.

We have a village phone near the airport. It sure beats the three mile hike to the old phone! This is only a fourth of a mile from our cabin. Now we have a satellite phone to make our connection to the outside world!

As a Fairbanks Native Association board member, I was fortunate enough to make the beaded doily that two of our Elders are admiring as part of our recognition ceremony.

One of our family gatherings at Jonathon's place. Jeannie, Dixie and Bolo are all siblings with Bolo's wife, Jane and Dixie's son Frank, also, Taya and Dennis.

Our lives were blessed when my brother Jonathon and his wife Donna adopted Taya Marie. I was fortunate to be her first grade teacher. At the first grade Welcome Night she said, " Aunt Jeannie, What is your name again?" She was trying to figure out my identity as Mrs. Nelson.
